Francis Dexter, alias James Reginald Goode (38), who alleged that-ho was a returned officer of the Australian Air Force under the former name, was committed for trial at Yarmouth after his arrest at Nairn on charges of. bigamy and of obtaining £4BO from the Midland Bank by false pretences, cAlberthe Goode, (of Birmingham, a waitress,. said that the accused • married her at -Marco, India, in 1917. She had not seen him since 1923. She is suing for a divorce. May Broughton (22), of "Wellington, gave evidence that she had answered Goode’s advertisement for a secretary in February, 1927, and married him a month later. She accompanied him from place to place, using different names.' She had been most happy and would marry him when he was divorced. A Yarmouth bank manager said that Dexter wanted £ISOO transferred from an Australian bank and also a gratuity of £BOO or £9OO due from the' Australian, Air Force. Dexter opened ah account with a cheque for £963, asserting that it was gratuity. He drew £4BO in cash. The cheque was valueless.
