Butt, will leave hospital to-day and that-Mr.Aim is making more satisfactory progress. Mr. J. S. Wilkinson, who was taken suddenly ill on Sunday morning is still in a serious condition, i . The ladies .-of the Ven. Bode church have arrangements well in hand for the. “joy night” dance in tho Parish hall on Friday. The Foxton orchestra will provide the music and competitions, will be held. Members ,of the Shannon Croquet club gathered at the pavilion last week to bid farewell to their retiring secretary, Mrs. J. S. Spencer. The president, Mrs. C. G. Franks, on behalf of the members, presented Mrs. Spencer with a handsome brush and comb as a token of appreciation of ' her services, and wished her tho best ‘of happiness and prosperity in the future. ’ , Golf. ' ' Saturday next is the closing day of (ho Shannon Golf club. Various competitions such as driving, putting and approaching will be held, and it is also intended to droid a Canadian foursome match. Play will commence at 1.30 o'clock.
