DAIRY COMPANY. From Our Own Correspondent. The Bongotea Dairy Company pay out for June .butter-fat was Is 6d per lb. The balance sheet for the past year is now complete and the books are in the hands of the auditors. It is hoped to have the annual meeting about the middle of August, when the bonus on the last season’s supply will lip declared. The average advances already made have been in conformity with the advances received and with the proposed bonus the payout for tho year should; be on a par with the adjacent factories. Town Board. The monthly meeting ,of the Bongotea Town Board was held last week, there being present, Messrs. L. H. Yarrall (chairman)., E. J. Arnott, A. Trcnkner and Mr C. P. Wood (secretary). Leave of absence was granted Mr \V. J. ' Cruncher. |i Correspondence was received from tho Manawatu County Council ofiicially notifying the Board that the Highways Board has taken, ovcr the Long-burn-Eongotca Bead. , 1: From Mr. A. Madcn requesting tho board, to supply a concrete chamber for the water-table running in front of his premises. The matter was left in the hands of the works committee. Notice was given of a motion to be brought . forward at the next Board meeting striking a general rate of Sd in the £ qn the unimproved value, and also a sanitary ice. It was decided to notify- the rubber company to remove the blackberries from the premises occupied'by Mr A. Trenkner. , -It -rt-as agreed that the parking area forbears be increased, the space provid- ; ed being insufficient. In connection with the estimates of expenditure and receipts, it is to be npted that t|io amount available for ipaintonanoo work by the board will Be less than that .of last year. This of affairs is brought about by tho Highways Board taking, over the Long-burn-Ephgotoa Eoad. The Boa., previously was in receipt of £4O for this Eoad’a maintenance and repair, and sis a result of it becoming the responsibility of the Highways Board the grant Will now bo considerably reduced. This factor will not prove detrimental to the board as it can concentrate its available funds on the improvement of the water tables and branch roads, v , Social Club. . At no period during tho two 30 minute spells did Awahuri look like scoring and if the spells had been the usual 45 minutes, Eongotea would have put on a much / largcr score. The game started 35;minutcs late owing to the non arrival of the Awahuri team. A feature of the match was tho splendid passing rushes by Eongotea team on several occasions. The whole of Eongotea’s four scores came from good passing movements, Trys were converted by Amadio, and Barnaby kicked a splendid field goal from 30 yards out.
