Manawatu Hunt Club Ball at Kiwitea

The Kiwitea Hall presented a very animated scene on Wednesday evening yvhen the members of tho Kiwitea branch of the Manawatu Hunt- Club entertained many guests at tho annual ball, which is always a keenly anticipated and enjoyable function. The committee entertained their guests in a ■ most hospitable manner. The hall, was most artistically decorated ■with festoons of. coloured streamers, while in the centre of the hall hung a huge, canlopy of yellow and gold chrysanthemums, the walls were lined with piingas and Canterbury bells. The stage was transformed into a most comfort-, able lounge, with an open fire blazing cheerfully all the evening. -.- Praise must be given those who were responsible for the supper arrangements. The tables were massed with autumn flowers and’ fresh violets wero strewn over them, while they, appeared to have;every possible delicacy ever conceived in the culinary art. Much of tho success of the evening was also duo to Larkin’s Orchestra, who responded times innumerable to encores. -Extras were played by Miss Myra Johnston, Miss Walsh, Miss Cummcrfield ,and Mrs. Simpson. -j
