LADIES’ HOCKEY
A meeting Of representatives of the ladies’ hockey clubs ytas hold in McKenzie’s buildings, Broddway, on- Wednesday night, Mr F. T. vasey presiding. Also present'were Messrs 'H. Amos, W, Broughton, A. J. Hunt,- H. 'I cmple, C. L. Turnbull, J. B. Gerrand. and representatives from the .Tokomaru, Premcra, Kosco, W.E.O.G. and Technical School clubs. Apologies for absence were 1 received from Messrs E. L. 0. Aitchison, H. MacDowell, Weston Smith, Scott, and the Eongotea club. The question of raising funds for the purpose of sending a team to the New Zealand tournament was discussed, the suggestion being made that collection cards be issued to each club. Opinions, as to the successful working of this scheme were varied, Mr Amos consider ing that the country teams would find it rather difficult to get the cards filled. It was finally decided that the card system be given a try-out by the town and country yearn 5........ .-i ;• Discussion was next held on the holding of a combined dance ~when it was moved that all clubs combine in holding a euchre and dance. This motion was unaimously carried. It was consequently decided to hold the dance at the Empire Hall, matters relating to the engaging of an orchestra and refreshments being satisfactory settled. It was agreed that arrangements with regard to the euchre be left in the hands of Mr. Hunt.. The appointment of an M.C. and all other hands was left for the executive to settle. SATURDAY’S FIXTURES. Oroua Downs v. West End Old Girls, Sportsground, 2.30 p.m. Eongotea v. Tokomaru, Sportsground 2 o’clock. Bunnythorpc v. Technical match ha! been postponed, until end of seasoU- on account of Technical School team being at Napier.
