I-knew a man who went fishing for cod, Fishing for Cod Fishing for Cod With a silken thread and a fat peas ’ ‘ pod - ■ " And a stick of macaroni for fishing ■ ’ V ’> _ And wherc do you think he , went, 'ch, where? . He went fishing for cod in the city ; square! ■ • Fishing for cod in the city square; It’s as true as true, fori saw him there, Fishing for cod in the city square. I know a man who went seeking for love, , , Seeking for love Seeking for loveWith empty hands and Pa cold, shut heart And. a glowering look to the human ’’ ‘mart.' , • And what do you think he purchased there. This glum-faced fellow at the sweetheart fair? Ho bought HIMSELF, and nothing to pay ' (They were giving the shut, cold hearts away) And thinks it a bargain,. I have heard say.
