PRESERVATIVES IN BETTER

The Rongotca Dairy Company (b,utter)’ reports, Payout for last month’s supplies of butterfat, Is 2d per lb.; total output last month, 95 tons; pre-sent-output, 90 boxes per day, which is on a par with tho last year s workr ing about- six weeks, hence. > ; In regard to an article which appeared in the news columns regarding the use of preservatives the company reports the following: “We have not used preservatives in the manufacture of butter for the past fifteen years and tho keeping qualities and the grade have been very satisfactory. To prove this statement butter which had been in store at Wanganui for three months: was passed- by the- grader as being in excellent condition, also' the' reports on the butter On arrival in the Home stores was very favourable. We do not think the addition of preservatives to butter ; is necessary as has been proved: by us over the past fifteen years.”
