MANAWATU CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
The annual meeting of the Manawalu Caledonian Society was .held in tlie rooms of Mr. W. M'Kcnzie on Saturday night, when the president,. Colonel J. M. Bose, presided over a large attendance of members.
The president’s report showed that the annual sports gathering, as also the annual Scotch concert, had proved highly successful. The balance-sheet, too, went to show that the society was in a sound financial position.
Tho following officers were elected for tho ensuing year: Patron, Mr. J. Balsillie; president, Colonel J. M. Eose; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. Munro, D. B. M'Ewcn, J. Marshall, and James Ferguson; directors, Messrs. J. E. Anderson, Alex Anderson, Major Ashworth, D. Buchanan, W. Cruden jnr, J. B. Ferguson, W. J. Frew, G. Glendining, J. F. Grant, W. H. Gordon, J. Hastings, F. Lucas, A. Mathcson, I). M‘Dowell, T. H. Simpson; treasurer, Mr. H. L. Young; auditor, Mr. W, Turner.
Votes of thanks were passed to the president, treasurer, auditor, secretary, and the press. The committee will meet on Friday evening .next to draft the programme for the annual Easter Monday sports.
