WARRANT EXECUTED AFTER TWO-AKD-A-HALF TEARS. On July, 1, 1924, Lillian Mavis Conquest, of Wellington formerly of Linton, issued a warrant for the arrest of her husband Cyril George Conquest on the grounds of desertion. The warrant was only executed on Sunday, 2J years after issue, defendant being arrested at Linton. ' At the Court yesterday ' Senior Sergeant Q’Grady applied for a remand which was granted. Mr. McGregor, who appeared for defendant and applied for ball, alleged that defendant’s wife has been living with another man for the last three years and that was the real reason whyt defendant had left home and gone out of New Zealand. There were children registered as born to his wife and the other man. It was really a case of the wife deserting the husband and defendant had only come back to New Zealand from Australis to institute divorce proceedings. In fixing bail, two securities of £l5O, his Worship remarked that probably inquiries could bo made as to whether, the woman desired to go on with the charge.
