NOISES IN SYDNEY
ENFORCING A NEW BY-LAW. The Sydney City Council recently passed a series of new by-laws for the prevention of disturbing noises within the city area, and these have been approved and are effective within the city area. It has been agreed that the health Inspectors should enforce these by-laws strictly, and that offenders should be prosecuted. These by-laws make It a punishable offence for any person to keep on their property crowing cocks, harking dogs, or other animals that make noises such as annoy the peace of the community. Unnecessary noises made by motors and other vehicles arc also punishable offences.
