THE QUESTION OF PAPER VALUE INCREASED PRODUCTION. While the question of State Ad. vances was being discussed at the meeting of the Wellington Provincial Executive of the Farmer’s Union it was stated that sales effected on paper without money passing were largely responsible for the inflated value of land. The State Advances system. If was contended .instead of being a solution of the problem really added to its perplexity A very serious position had been reached in this respect. New Zealand's urgent need being production, more production, and still more production, while the high price of land and the consequent charges upon the farmers was virtually preventing any Increase in the volume of the Dominion's exports. It was resolved to fully discuss this question at the next meeting of the executive, to be held at Feildlng on Friday. April 9th.
