[From Our Own Correspondent.] Licensing Bench.
The quarterly meeting of the Manawatu Licensing Bench was held on Wednesday at the Courthouse, Foxton, Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presiding. Also present were:—Messrs. R. Bryant, J. K. Hornblow and J. B. Walker. An application for a permit for a trustee of the deceased licensee of the Manawatu Hotel, Foxton, to carry out license was granted, the position to be reviewed, if necessary at the next meeting, A transfer of the license of the Sanson Hotel from R. Spier to S. Gomlez was granted. Bowling. A committee meeting of the Bowling Club was held in the pavilion last night, the Rev. Walton presiding. It was decided to hold a pairs tourney on Saturday and on Easter Monday.
