A SPANISH EDICT
HORSES IN BULL-EIGHTS. ABOLITION OP THEIR USE. LONDON, Feb 23. The “Evening Standard” comments oii th e abolition of horses from bullfights. It reveals the fac)t that the Queen of Spain, while she was apparently watching through field-glasses every detail of ih e most important bull-fights, really had black discs in the glasses, instead of lenses. The Queen always keeps the glasses raised when a bull is goring a horse. The "Daily News” says the most hopeful comment which can be made on the bull-fight decree is that it implies that the Spaniards themselves are losing enthusiasm for the gory sights of the hull -ring.
