LAMB PRICES

MEAT BOARD ASKED TO REPORT. MORE INFORMATION WANTED. At the last meeting of the executive of tho North Canterbury Farmers’ Union Hr .W. W. Mulholland suggested that ■ the Meat Board should be asked to investigate the' prices of lamb. Mr R. T. McMillan supported this view, saying that he had noticed that the report of a certain firm appeared in the' papers, but they had no other account of the price of lambs. Everybody seemed to take this report as a guide as to wha\ lambs were worth. It was not the right way to receive information. It would bo better it the Meat Board would give the Information. Mr Mulholland: We should ask Ihem to publish the prices. Mr McMillan said there were two distinct items readers wanted to know, first of all what was the real value' of their stuff on the market to-day. and secondly, what was tho probable tendency of the market for tho next few months. It was decided to ask the board to .report on the. prices of lambs, and also to explain the disparity in such prices. ■ , .
