FINANCED FORGERIES

M, Gabriel Barcas, Director-General of tho Post Office and Savings Bank, has been arrested on a charge Of advancing £4500 to Prince WlnddisgraeU, the money being used to finance the forgeries. NOT ARRESTED. BUT SUSPENDED. PARCEL OF BOGUS NOTES REDEEMED. (Received Sunday, 7 p.m.) VIENNA, January 16. It is stated here that M. Baross has not been arrested, but suspended from office, following an examination, in which he stated M. Madosgy, after the discovery of the forgeries, obtained money from the Savings Bank with which he redeemed and destroyed a parcel of bogus notes that had been deposited at another bank.
