HALCOMBE.
[From Our Own Correspondent.] A committee meeting of the Horticultural society was held on Mondaj evening the president, Mr W. McLennan, presiding. There was a full attendance, vhe business of the evening being the election of stewards, tend arranging sundry defails in connection with the forthcoming Rose Show. Dairy farmers touched the switch in vain on Tuesday morning, no power being available until noon. This is the second time within the week that the dairyman has been seriously inconvenienced, Mr D. Managh is leaving for Blenheim at the latter end of the week, where he intends competing at the motor cycling sports on Saturday.
