BULLS ROSE SHOW

(From Our Own Correspondent). Fair weather favoured the Bulls Rose, Sweet Pea and Vegetable Show, held yesterday. The entries were far in excess of all previous shows and a fine display of roses and sweet peas was on view. Cut flowers .decorative, domestic and vegetable sections were well represented. The show was officially opened by Mr J. Linklater M.P., who complimented the promoters and the exhibitors. An added attraction was the beautiful display of native shrubs, which was artistically arranged in the background of the decorative exhibits for which thanks were due to Mr Tucker of the Wanganui Beautifying Society. A handsome display of wonderfully fine delphiniums, grown by Mr F. Mason, of Feilding, was also much admired. Fine carnations, staged by Mr Martin of Wanganui, were another attraction also the. i oses staged by Messrs Shatter and Mason. The pot plants, roses and collections of flowers, were judged by Mr Mason, sweet peas, cut flowers, fruit and vegetables by Mr C. H. Rhodes, and the decorative by Mrs B. P. Lethbridge. Attractive stalls were well laden with many useful articles. Mesdames Kearney and Jones were in charge of the sewing stall; sweet stall Mesdames Swainson and Mackay; produce, Mesdames Levett and Goodall; jumble, Mesames J. B. and E. C.
