MAIN HIGHWAYS IN OROUA COUNTY
LOAN' POLL TO-MORUOW. To-morrow is an important day lithe Oroua County, for a poll is to betaken on a proposal to borrow £16,800 for the purpose of purchasing roadmaking machinery and providing tin Council’s share of the cost of construction works on all the main highways in the county. Ratepayers do not need to be reminded of the value of these works, which mean permanent highways of modern construction at considerably less cost to them. No county in New Zealand has turned down a main highway loan, ano Oroua is not likely to be an exception to the rule.
