OHMSTCHUKCH SENTENCES. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Supreme Court, before Mr. Justice Adams, David Swift was admitted to probation for four years on two charges of breaking and entering and Cecil Claud Austin Bernard, a railway cadet, to probation for three >ears on a charge of theft of a postal packet. Ivan William Coates, on three charges of breaking, entering and theft, was sentenced to reformative treatment for three years.' Charles Henry Augustus Jones, the Paparoa escapee, was sentenced to three months* imprisonment for this offence and to six months on eight | charges of breaking and entering. The above terms are additional to the ; three years’ detention he is at present serving.
