MANAWATU-OROUA BOARD MEETS. The regular monthly meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board was held yesterday, Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., presiding. Also present were Sir James Wilson, Messrs J. Hodgens, F. W. Arbon, M. A. Eliott, P. J. Small, J. H. Vincent, D. Morrison, L. T. McLean. J. S. T(ngey and H, H. Hunt From the Borough Council, .Feilding, stating that the electric lines in Aorangi street, Feilding, had been constructed at a cost of £24 10/6, and paid for by Mrs M J. McLeod, so that her house in that street, could be connected. At the present time there were several more consumers being connected up from the same line, and the Council considered that Mrs McLeod should be refunded the cost of the line.—lt was left , to the engineer to bring up a report on the matter. The A.M.P. Society wrote, forwarding debenture No. 27 for £IO,OOO, and stating that the interest due, at the head office, Sydney, on July Ist., was £7R 6 8 14/-

From the Electric Power Board’s Association, advising that the annual conference of the Power Boards’ Association would be held in Wellington on Wedesday, August sth, at 10 a.m.; and forwarding order paper for the conference.

A letter was received from the Feilding Golf Club, asking that the minimum charge recently adopted by the Board would be allowed in respect to the Feilding Golf Club house.—lt was stated that the Club was not active for six months in the year. The chairman: “Don’t you play summer golf in Feilding?” Mr Tingey: “We hope to some time, but our finances will not allow of it just now.” He moved that all golf clubs in’ the district be placed on the same basis as churches and schools, but the motion was lost on a show of hands. Financial Statement The amount of loan money £400,000; the amount of loan money received to date, £310,000; balance. £90,000; credit Bank of New Zealand loan, £1729 5/6; plus credit Public Trustee, £32.95,1 14/; plus refundable from Power fund, £1(5,181 19/-.; balance available, £140,862 18/6. Current. —Revenue collected April, £2488 11/11; May, £l2lO 9/10; Juno, £2263 1/2; total collect for quarter, f 5,962 2/11. The amount collected in Feilding for the quarter ending June 30th, and the amount collected for the corresponding period, in 1924 by the Feilding Borough Council, excluding the Makino dairy company in both cases; Power Board, 1925: April, £572 13/2, may .£757 8/7, June £861.9/9, total, £2191 11/6; Feilding Borough, 1924: April £607 10/10, May £690 9/4, June £856 2/2, total, £2154 2/4. Advances to consumers.—The total amount of advances made, £32,857 6/3; the total refunds to date, £22,819 10/4; balance, £10,037 .15/11. This amount has increased lately and consumers are taking advantage of the financial assistance scheme, and paying the 7 per cent interest. Payments of Accounts. The secretary had had many ,roc|uests for the Board to make provision for the payment of accounts at Rongotoa and Sanson, and he would suggest that the. Board allow him to make arrangements for a clerk from this office to be in attendance at say, the County office Sanson, and the Town Board’s office, Rongotea on discount day, for the collection of accounts. This could be brought into force in September. It w: s decided to include Ashhurst in the latter connection.
