LIFE IN SPAIN.
NEVER MORE PEACEFUL. DIRECTORY INCREASINGLY SUPPORTED. [By Electric Cable —Copyright] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, September 30. The "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent at Madrid says that life In Spain was never so peaceful as at present. Swift, rigid enforcement ol the law has created a panic among criminals, and people are beginning to know what it is to go about their ordinary affairs without the continual menace of grave disturbances and outbreaks of terrorism.
The worker is no longer at the mercy of agitators, and strikes have ended.
Another phase of the movement Is a vigorous campaign throughout the country against unscrupulous tradesmen, with the result that food prices have already begun to fall. The country is delighted with the change, and the Directory's policy is being increasingly supported.
