BOWLING.
FEILDING CLUB'S REPORT. The animal report of the Feilding Bowling 1 Club suites that the year opened with a credit balance of 7d., and closed with a credit balance of £:;7 11/1, which stands as a record in the club's financial transactions. During: tlic year 23 new members joined making the present membership 93 playing', and 13 honorary members. , The committee regret having to record the loss the' club lias sustained through tho death of five members, Messrs. \V. H. Dewe, L. J. Pirani, H. 0. Stewart, W. F. Bramwell and W. B. Benson. The first three mentioned took an active part in the management of the club, .Mr. Stewart hens president in 1908, and with Messrs. Pirani and Dewe did good work on the committee. Several tournaments and club competitions wen; played on the green during the year, the winners being: L'hampion singles, J. Bartholomew; handicap eingles, I' 1 . E. Moore, colt's' singles, \V. J. Minogue; handicap pairs, Dumsden and F. Chappell (s); Labour Day pairs tournament, F. E. Moore and C. Milieu (s) ; April 28th pairs tournament, J. Lumsden and V. F. Dummcr (s). Inter-club matches were played at; home with Wanganui, Marton, Bulls, Foxton, Wellington and Hutf. Victory rested with the home teams, with the exception of the Wanganui match which was lost by one point on the iggrcgatc. Feilding teams visiter Wanganui and Marton Clubs.| Viclory again rested with Feilding-. Queensland bowlers visited FeUding on January 5 with five rinks. A most enjoyable game was played, Feilding again being successful. The thanks of the club are due to Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., president of the centre, for arranging the visit. A good deal of play was indulged hi during the season for the various cups. Mr. Bourkc's rink successfully lefended the Hum Cup, five games. Mr. Mason's rink the Dixon Cup three games. Mr. !•'. Chappell's rink alsiefending the Dixon Cup, five games. Mr. Herdman's rink recovered the Hum Cup from St. John's at the en.t of the season, this being- the only trophy held by our club. The club was represented at the centre chamiion rinks on .May 12 by W. Qu3vi~ G. Garrett, C. Millen, J. S. Herrtman (s), and are to be congratulated on winning the champion links for the season 1923. Mr. C. .Milieu ana Mi*. J • S. Herdman also represented the club in the champion pairs, but without success. The report concludes by tendering 'hanks to donors of trophies and for various other services benefiting the club. The annual meeting of the •■lui) is to be held this month, when trophies won during (he season will bb presented.
