President Cosgrave, in speaking at Cork, said the Government would shortly ask the Irish people to lend the nation a suiiiciont sum to wipe out the dishonour q£ the last twelve or eighteen months. He warned (he nation against wild-cat schemes. It must be prepared for small beginnings and it was essential that after the elections the Government should be strong enough to enable it to advance money.
