STATE TRAWLING FLEET.
SHOWS £33,000 LOSS. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] SYDNEY, July 1. Mr Oakes has stated that the trawling industry shows a loss of £33,000 on last year's operations, due to the increase in working and general expenses. Mr Oakes added that the receipts total £16,000 less than previously due chiefly to the shortage of fish on the usual trawling grounds. Representations are being made to the Tasmanian Government to obtain permission to trawl in its waters.
