The "Daily Telegraph’s’’ Berlin correspondent states that trustworthy news shows that Kronstadt has not suffered from the bombardment. The food supplies will only suffice for a fortnight. All the country between Nishni Novgorod and Simbirsk is in revolt. An Independent Tartar Republic has been proclaimed in Kazan, and anti-Semitism is rampant at Tsaritsin, where the Commissaries have been mercilessly hunted down. A Helsingfors telegram says that Chinese troops attempted to storm Kronstadt over the ice on Monday, but were defeated with heavy loss, suffering several thousand casualties, owing to gun fire from the forts. A member of the American Red Cross drove over hte ice to Kronstadt with food, but the soldiers refused to touch it, and sent the food for distribution to the hospital patients. The garrison of Kronstadt Is now estimated to number 50,000. (Received Wednesday, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 15. It is stated that PTCrident Harding will follow Dr Wilson’s Russian policy for the present. If the Soviets are overthrown-, President Harding may co-operate in the stabilisation of Rusia.
