WEDDINGS.

MARTIN —CORBOY. The marriage took place in St. Patrick’s Church yesterday of Mr Harry Martin, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. A. Martin, of Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, and Kathleen Bridget ("Babs”) Gorbov, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Gorbov, of Kiccarton, Christchurch, and niece of Mrs R. Mulrooney, of Palrnmerston North. The church was prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride, the effect being enhanced by the presence of a wedding bell, which was suspended over the altar. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father McManus, and during the Nuptial Mass the Paternoster was sung - by Mrs E. J. Leydon. The budes gown was ivory georgette over charmeuese, trimmed with gold tissue roses, and finished with a beautiful train of silver tissue over pale pink. Her bridal veil of hand-embroidered Brussell’s net (loaned by Mrs E. J. Fitzgibbou) was fastened with sprays of orange blossom, and her shower bouquet was of cream chrysanthemums. The bride was given away by her cousin, Mr E. Kavanagh, of Palmerston North. The bridesmaids were Miss Kathleen Martin, sister ot the bridegroom, and Miss Peggy Lander, cousin of the bride. Miss Martins dress was of pale blue georgette, embroidered in pink and blue, and she wore a black picture hat. Miss Bander’s frock was of ivory georgette over white satin, her hat being of black beaver. Each carried a bouquet to match. Mr A. Sheenn, ot Gisborne, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr Tom Lyons, of Waipawa. groomsman. The bridesmaids received from the. bridegroom a gold bangle and manicure set respectively. After the ceremony nearly 200 guests from all parts of the North and South Islands, were entertained at a reception by Mrs Mulrooney, where the customary toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs Martin left by motor-car tor the. north, on their honeymoon. The bride’s travelling toilet was a violet costume and cerise velour hat, with which she wore a beautiful SGt Cl lOX furs, the gift of the bridegroom. PETERSEN —A NDERSON. At Saint Andrew's Church yesterday. Miss Jessica Anderson, daughter of‘Mr and Mrs J. Anderson, was married to Mr Ernest Petersen, son of Mr and Mrs Petersen, of Church StreeEast Miss Rene Nairn was bridesmaid and Mr George Petersen best man.
