Three months’ leave of absence has been granted to Air Alorgan O’Brien, health inspector.
Mr L. R. Bryant, who has been a member of the Wanganui Education Board for some years, does not intend to seek re-election. Mr P. L. Reardon, of the Palmerston North staff of the Bank of Australasia, has exchanged places with Mr T. Brabant, of Featherston.
A London cable announces that ■Hon. W. A. Watt, Commonwealth Treasurer, has resigned owing to a disagreement with his colleagues on the question of emigration.
Mr J. H. Howell, director of the Wellington Technical College, has been appointed by the Minister of Education to (ill the vacancy on the Council of Education caused by the death of Air Geo. Hogben.
