TOWARDS LEMBERG.
Russians loving Forward. Terrific Battles, ZLOTA LIPA CROSSED. (Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received Thursday, 8.10 p.m.) PETROGRAD, Oct. 4. "The move forward towards Lemberg has re-commenced. The whole southern sector of the Russian front is ablaze. General Brusiloff's immediate objective is Vladimir Volynski and the railway at Kovel. The Russians are in possession of enormous reserves of ammunition, and are shelling the Austrian line with unparalellcd ferocity. The terrible battle at Brzezany has already been waged for three days, wherein the Russians under cover of artillery fire crossed the Zlota Lipa and captured the opposing heights.
