NATIONAL RESERVE.
The Palmerston contingent of the new branch of arms known as the National Reserve now has 51 applicants for membership. The latest addition comprises:— Sergeant J. Lucas, Palmerston North Guards; South African war medal. Sergeant B. Wadsworth, Te Aro Rifles, Wellington Guards and Palmerston North Rifles. Seaman W. Rawlins, Wellington Naval Volunteers. Trooper J. Proud, 6th SydneyMounted Rifles. Private Phillips, New Zealand war medal; was with Captain Buck (his commanding officer) at T« Ngatu-o-te-Manu, when the latter was killed, on September 7th, 1868. Private C. Hunt, special New Zealand medal, 1857; Royal Rifles, 1863. Private A. Barker, Nelson Naval Volunteers and City Rifles. Private R. E. Cuthbertson, Palmerston North Guards.
Private Carson, 4th Dragoca Guards. Private B. Waters, Wanganui City Rifles. Private H. Collis, Palmerston North Guards.
