NATIONAL SWEET PEA SOCIETY

A meeting of the National Sweet Pea Sooiety wss held last eveniug. Present—Messrs Goring Johnston (chairman), Brad field, Keying, Murdooh, Goldsmith, Fox, Trovethick, Goodson, Osmond, Rodgers and Mason. The balance-sheet was rend and showed a credit balance on the year's working of £9 13s, with trophies in hand worth £l2O. Mr Fox said this refteoted great credit on tho secretary, and moved that a minnte be placed on the books to that effeot —Canied. It was resolved : That entrance fees to classes should be doubled to non-mem-bers for all trophies over £2O in value. That a lady's 'ticket be given to each member for one admission only. That the different Societies iu New Zealand be circularised, and that tho circniar point out th» advantages of affiliation with the N.S.P.S. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs Fox, -Trevethicb and Osmond was empowered to draft rules and submit; same to the reft of the committee for their approval. Mr Goodson promised two prizes for two single bunch classes to be added to the society. The schedule was left to a subcommittee consisting of Messrs Goodson, Oswoud aud Dr Oarborry, to draw up, who will forward it to oanh member of the oommittee. The secretary reported that a very strong ladies' oommittae had been formed with Mrs L. A. Abraham as Dreeident. A local oommittee was formed of the following :—Messrs Bradfleld, Keeling, Rodgeis, G. Johnston and | Mason, with power to add to their number. , The following judges were appointed:— Mesus Trevethiok, Fox and Allen to judge in all clasaoe.
