BULLS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) At this month’s meeting of the Bull? Women’s Institute there was a lengthy discussion in connection with the institute display to be held at the Feildmg Show in February. For this members are to supply garments (something new from something old). A demonstration was given by Mrs Huddleston on the making of a crochet tea-cosy. Competitions resulted: Baby’s competition, Mrs Rippen 1, Miss Walker 2; peggy squares, Mrs Ross (26 squares) 1, Miss Richards (13) 2, Mrs Nagel (11) 3; antirrhinum, Mrs Hud-, dleston 1 Mrs Goebel 2, Miss Broughton 3: bloom *Mrs • Goebel 1, Miss Walker 2 Mrs Stuart 3. Mrs Eyles presided and a' new member, Mrs Rippen, was welcomed. The institute conducted , a children’s party on December 7, with games, . dances, items, ice-creams, soft drinks and supper. While a dairy-farmer near Bulls was milking recently a man in a truck was seen to call at the farmer’s house in order apparently to obtain water for his truck. In a short time he returned to the vehicie and, after filling the radiator, put the bucket he had used on his truck and drove off. Buckets of this type are both scarce and costly nowadays.
