Saigon.—The pineapple industry in IndoChina is seeking financial aid of approximately £265,000 from the British Government for rehabilitation.
London.—The French Government has decided to raise the pay of the public utility workers who struck for salary increases, says Reuter’s Paris correspondent. About a million workers ranging from tram conductors to teachers participated in the demand for a wage increase of £5 monthly. London.—H. Larwood, the former English Test fast bowler, will play cricket for Blackpool next season as an amateur in the Ribblcsdale League. Larwood is now 40. He ran a farm during the war.
