THREAT OF STRIKE

HOSPITAL STAFF.

(Press Assn) DUNEDIN, Dec. 15. The porters and staff at the Dunedin Hospital intend to cease work at 10 o’clock on Monday morning as a protest against the delay in paying the wage increases under the Court’s general order retrospective to April. The strike involves 20 men.

A spokesman said'that several applications to the Hospital board had been resultless.

The Hospital Board secretary stated that the board had no official information of the strike. Before Christmas the men would definitely receive the accumulated amount of the increases. There were 18 separate awards covering the board’s 800 hospital employees and the clerical work involved in computing the increases was considerable.
