REHABILITATION

• At a meeting of the Palmerston North District Rehabilitation Committee there were present Mr T. R. Lees (chairman), Miss C. E. Warburton, Hon. W. Moffatt, M.L.C., Messrs L. W. Millvvard, IV. Hopcroft, T. P. Hart, G. M. Adams, F. W. Coombs, W. E. Winks, J. A. Brown, G. G. Rae (Rehabilitation Officer) and E. H. Ferry (secretary). A report from the State Advances Corporation showed that the following loans had been approved during July: Two farming, £10,0003 business, £1945; 7 housing, £10,250; 23 furniture. £1919 ; and 2 tools, £45 ; making a total of £24,159. The chairmen of sub-committees reported on the following cases: Loans sub-eommittee, 35; farming sub-committee, 31; trade training advisory committee, 3. A subcommittee consisting of the chairman, Mr Winks and Mr Coombs was set up to report to the next meeting of the committee on the cost of materials, etc., for housing. The committee was advised that under the new Milk Act any milk rounds to be sold have first to lie offered to the Metropolitan Milk Board and then offered by the board for returned servicemen.
