“QUIET WEDDING”

Another well-merited success attended tho second performance of the Manawatu Repertory Society’s victory production, “Quiet Wedding,” in the Opera House last evening, there being a large attendance. The play is a credit to the producer, Miss M. Mortland, and is well portrayed. Splendid performances were again given by Mrs J. Kenning as the bride; Mrs C. Graven, as her mother; Mrs A. Wireri, Flower Lisle; Miss J. Ilassall, the bridesmaid; Miss B. Driver, Aunt Mary ; Miss N. Marshall, tho maid; Mr G. Driver, the bridegroom; Mr T. M. Rodgers, the bride’s father; Miss M. Murphy, Aunt Florence; Miss B. Farraher, the French dressmaker; Miss J. Judd, Maicia Brent; Mr J. Hunt, Denys Royd; Mr M. McKearney, John, the youngest son; and Mr L. Graven, as Jim Brerit. Tho colourful dressing and artistic setting were again a feature. Music which was much appreciated was supplied by an orchestra conducted by Mr F. W. McLeod and consisting of Mesdames J. King, V. Kendall, Messrs F. Whitcombe, W. and R. Inkpen, E. Low, F. l'iper, J. Cosgrove B. Newth, I. Favill and Miss E. R. Tonkin. The play will be presented again tonight and tomorrow night.
