In a fast and exciting match, a Palmerston North representative indoor basketball team decisively beat an American combination from the Wellington Joint Purchasing Hoard by 43 points to 22 at the Palmerston North Y.M.C.A. last evening. The teams were: — Palmerston North: J. Blumont, L. Mair, B. Corleti, D. Gray and B. Kendall. Americans: J. Lill, M. Nicholes; A. Wassman, T. Wright, A. Lucia (capt.). I. Lenzner replaced Nicholes during the match. The home team’s points came from 21 straight goals and three penalty goals, while the visitors shot eight goals and four penalties. Tho game provided an. exhilarating exhibition of indoor basketball. Hie referees were Messrs R. Wood and G. Foster.
