CONTROLS REVOKED
(Press Assn) WELLINGTON, Aug. 24 Commenting today on the revocation of 13 factory control notices, gazetted last night, ” the Minister of Supply (Mr Sullivan) said this meant that 20 of the 44 factory controls had been revoked. The factory control notices still iti operation were all necessary at present because of overseas supply difficulties, but they would he reviewed so that they could be revoked when no longer necessary. The remaining controls included those over bruslnvare, ball and roller hearings, bicycle tyres and tubes, rubber, kapoc, tinplate, industrial sewing machines, and paint. The Minister added that the revocation of some of the controls removed did not mean that supplies would increase at once. It meant that manufacturers could go ahead to the extent of the supplies available.
