REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY
GOOD MANAWATU TEAM. The best team to take the field this season for Manawatu will face the Taranaki representative Rugby side at the Showgrounds on Saturday. The players who wore unable to appear in the match against Hawke's Bay owing to Service and University College engagements are this time playing, and their inclusion gives distinct promise of producing a very fine side. Brooker is again full-hack and the three-quarter line on this occasion will be Potaka, McGougan and Butt. They are a very fast attacking trio, anil can defend and take advantage of opportunities ns well. The five-eighths are Gudsell and Cuff, and they should make for a willing team, being well capable of getting the hall out to the speedy three-quarters. Edlin is again half-back. The forwards are led by Todd (captain) and he has younger members with him in Nicho.s. Sinirnonds and Gunnell, also Mercer, Jacobsen, McCnlliim and Morgan, all very fine forwards. to add their weight and energy. The team promises a particularly hard game for the Taranaki side.
