Sir, —.Members of tlio Police Force recently comluclocl ii hall in aid of the Rod Cross funds and we with to express our sincere thanks to all who worked so hard to mako this function the success it undoubtedly was. The Red Cress funds benefit. by nearly £9O, and tile goodwill gained by such efforts .is beyond estimate. The viewpoint of the police as the friend of law-abiding citizens is as important as the viewpoint of the force as the enemy of the law-breaker, and the former opinion is fostered by such fine gestures as this. —Yours, etc., J.
