Much work bad been accompli shot, during the year, which had been one of distinct progress for the Palmerston North Intermediate School, stated the annual report of the chairman of flic School Committee (Mr W. H. Brown), which was presented at the annual meeting of parents last evening. Tin work -on the dental clinic had been commenced and an assembly hall had been obtained by the Wanganui Education Board, which was awaiting removal of the building from Paekakariki to the school site. Eurther progress had been made in regard to the purchase of land adjoining the school and it was hoped the purchase would be completed before the next annual meeting. The chairman paid a tribute to the work of the principal (Mr J. C. Wliibley) and the staff on the results obtained. The thanks of the committee were due to the Home and School Association, which had raised large sums of money for the school. It was regretted that Mr G. A. The headmaster brought up the matter of the cookery room, stating that there were 18 cookery classes and only one room for this subject. There were two teachers of cookery and it took two hours for proper instruction for each class. It was decided to take up the matter ol extra cookery facilities with the Wanganui Education Board. Those elected as the parents’ representatives on the committee were:— Mrs W. .11. Righam and Messrs W. R. Mummery, AY. H. Brown, J. P. Ellwood, TJ. A. Seifert and llev. J. Hubhard.

A tribute to the energies of Mr J. E. Snelgrovc and 'Dr. E. H. McDowall was paid by the chairman. Both, he said, had given excellent service.
