JAPANESE OPPRESSION.
LONDON, Dec. 23
A Chungking communique states that General Chang Ching Hui (Premier of Manchukuo) poisoned all the members of his family, shot and killed his Japanese adviser and five high ranking officials of his puppet Government, and then committed suicide. The cc-.imuniquo quoted a Chinese Intelligence report saying that the Premier was unable to stand Japanese oppression any longer. Lin Shin Liang, head of the Finance Ministry's Transportation Department, was executed by the personal order of Marshal Chiang Kaishek for corruption and the embezzlement of thirty million yuan. Lin was found guilty of stealing funds when directing the transfer of Chinese property from Burma. Early in 1942 the military arrested him in Kunming. Tho execution has attracted attention throughout the country as it symbolised the Government's determination to eradicate corruption.
