CONTACT WITH ENEMY
LONDON, Dec. 22. Allied patrols stabbing north-east of Medjez el Bab have made contact with Axis forces 15 miles to the east. Other patrols encountered Germans 10 miles south-west of Mateur, but the fact that the enemy is more distant than previously i"s not regarded as an indication of a general withdrawal to Teburba. French reconnaissances suggest that the enemy is not in strength in South Tunisia.
