Fountain pens, pencils, clocks a?id watches are now almost unobtainable at most of the city jewellers. Labour saving electrical equipment, such as toasters, irons, and clamors, are. equally scarce. Second-hand dealers report a rush on the short supply of household goods, such as saucepans, cutlery, crockery and blankets as presents for newly-married couples. Literally mi'lions of books have been sold this week as Christmas The stocks of many recently published war and political books arc exhausted. Roast rabbit will replace the traditional poultry on many Christmas dinner tables in Sydney. The poultry stocks are so low that prices arc the highest on record.
