Among members of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. mentioned in dispatches recently for gallant and distinguished service in the Middle East during the period from November, 1941, to April, 1942, ' was sister Isabel Mackinnon, of Church Street, Palmerston North. The death occurred at Palmerston North on Monday of Mrs E. M. McCulloch, sister of Sir Alfred Ransom, in her 83rd year. The death has occurred at Tauranga of Mr Job Harrison. For a number of years ho was a resident of Marton and in partnership with the late Mr T. Ward as a general grocer. As a member of tho Marton Volunteer Fire Brigade ho was one of a successful team that took part in fire brigade competitions throughout New Zealand when the late Mr S. Gibbons was superintendent of the brigade.
