TE ARAKURA
(From Our Own .Correspondent.) The To Arakuia School held the annual 'prize-giving in the hall. A splendid programme was rendered, consisting of part songs, dialogues, carols, elocutionary items, etc., undor the callable supervision of the teachers. Pianoforte solos were also given- by Mies Thelma Griffin. Mr W. K. Thomas (chairman) congratulated the teachers (Mr Baker, head, and Miss'J. Skinner, assistant) on ""(ho excellent programme which was greatly appreciated. Tho chairman asked Mrs Baker to present each child with books. Special prizes were also given to the following: Good attendance certificates: Valeric Jepson, Olive Talbot, Stuart Avery. Primary certificates: Thelma Griffin, Nancy O'Rogan, Alan Thomas. Service to the school : Nancy O'Rogan, Thelma Griffin. Sewing: Std. 5 and 6, N'ancy O'Regan 1. Thelma Griffin 2; Std. 3 and 4Shirley Jepson. Dancing for. adults and children was continued, music being supplied l>v 'Mrs D. Johnston, Mrs Griffin, and Mr T. Dennis. Mrs F. M. Bradley presrded at the montiilv meeting of the Patriotic Sewing Guild. A most helpful talk on maternity nursing was given by Mrs W. Booth.
