SUNNY CORNER SOCIAL CLUB
The members of tho staff of the P.D.C. again entertained 60 soldiers from camp, when in all 150 partook of tea, and a jovial atmosphere was ovident. Ihe guests were warmly welcomed by Mr A. J MeKechnio on behalf of the staff, and on behalf of the company by Mr W M. Sexton. Major E .Morgan responded. There followed a lengthy programme of community singing and games, interspersed with dancing and items by Misses O’Keefe Waller and Ward and Mr L. Wood. Mr L. W. Rees acted as M.C. A spceia. vote of thanks was extended to -Lieutenant J. McEvven, who acted as pianist.
The results of Saturday s competition plaved bv the Manawatu Ladies Golf Club arc -—Modal, first division : Miss, M. Thompson, 99—19 —80. Second division : Mrs W. J. Brophy, 112-56—76. Stableford bogey, first division: Miss J. Brown, 24pts. Second division, Mrs R. Collins, 25pts". To-morrow members will play a foursome for points for Mrs J. 1 . Innes s trophies, and players are to choose their own partners apd opponents.
