FOXTON LIFE-SAVING CLUB.

Although the war has had a serious effect on its membership, the Eoxton Surf and Life-Saving Club will again have a men’s team on duty at the beach this year. A women’s life-sav-ing team hits also been formed and will be"seen on duty in the coming season. A women’s clubhouse is to be built, and at present the dull is endeavouring to , raise funds to equip the new team. 11l the 10 years of its existence the club has a proud record. 1 here have been no accidents while it has been on patrol, : and in all over 100 rescues have been effected. In addition, the lack of shel- i ter on the ocean beach is receiving the club’s attention and members spend . week-ends in winter constructing breakwinds and planting trees. An appeal to the public in the Manawatu for support for the club is being made.
