OBITUARY.

AIRS AIARGARET HILL

The death occurred at the residence of her daughter, Mrs A. J. Berryman, of Victoria Avenue, ol Mrs Margaret--11 ill on July 11, alter an illness of three months. Born at Airdie, Scotland, 80 years ago, the deceased lady came to Now Zealand at the ago oi fifteen with her parents, settling in Dunedin. A lew years later she was married to Air Roland Hill and went to reside in Woodviile, later moving to Dannevirke and Hastings and eventually coming to Palmerston North, where she has resided for the past 110 years. The late Mrs Hill had a tender nature and an ever-ready smile which made her the friend of all with whom she came in contact. Of a bright and happy disposition, she was beloved and admired by a largo circle of friends, this being shown by the numerous floral tributes and messages of sympathy received from many parts of New Zealand.

The iuneral took place on Saturday, the services at the house. and the graveside being conducted by Rev. G. S. Cook, of Otaki. The pall-bearers were her three sons, her son-in-law, Mr A. J. Berryman, Mr E. Anderson, Taihape (nephew) and Mr it. Till (grandson). Left to mourn their loss arc'the three sons, Messrs \\ . IT. Hill (Wellington), T. A. Hill (Hastings), and It. Hill (Morrinsvillc), and two daughters, Miss B. Hill and Mrs A. J. Berryman (Palmerston North); also fourteen grandchildren and live greatgrandchildren. The youngest son, Jeffrey, who pre-deceased his mother just over three years ago. served with distinction throughout the last war.
