AIR COMMAND.
1M PORTANT CHANGES. (Bee. 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, June f. The appointment of Air Chief-Mar-shal Sir A. M. Longniorc to be In-spector-General of the R.A.F., succeeding Air-Marshal Sir AY. G. S. .Mitchell, is one of several Higher Command changes announced by the Air .Ministry. .Sir A. M. Longmore has been in Britain since the beginning of .Mii,v. advising the Air Ministry o.n air problems in the Middle East. His place in the Middle East is taken by Acting-Air-Marshal A. W. Tedder, who has beett his second-in-command in the Middle East since last November. The latter is promoted temporarily Air-Marshal.
Other appointments include: Air Vice-Marshal A. T. Harris seconded lor special duty and granted the acting rank-of Air-Marshal. Air Vice-Mar-shal N. H. Bottomlev to be DeputyChief of Air Staff. Air Vice-Marsha] R. 31. Druminond to be Deputv-Chief of Air Staff. Air Vice-Marshal R. 31. Drummo.nd to be Deputy-Air-Officer Commancling-in-Chief R.A.F. Middle East. Sir A. M. Longmore. and Air Vice-Marshal Drummond and Sir W. (.'. S. Mitchell are all Australiauborn.—Of licia I Wireless.
