CONGREGATIONAL GUILD
The successful Mother's Day services at the Congregational Church were concluded on Tuesday afternoon when the Ladies' Guild remembered mother. Airs W. Garner presided. Apologies for absence were received from Alesdames Alundy and AYright and Aliss Hose Ed wards. The guild will be responsible for the Patriotic Shop on Alay 22, '2'6 and 24 and members were asked to do their best to make it a financial .success. The speaker was Adjutant Tyler of the Salvation Army, who spoke on the "Motherhood of God." likening it to the earthly mother. Airs Garner thanked the speaker. Elocutionary items were given by Airs Sherman and Airs A\ . Lyon sang "Mother Alaehrec." Ma's Page (convener of the wool committee) intimated that a parcel of knitting for the minesweepers would soon be ready to hand to headquarters. The ladies were reminded that the Juno meeting would be a gift afternoon for the leper hospital at Gemo Island. Afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Alcsdames AY. Lyon and E. W. Drake. These ladies were thanked by Airs Greig.' During the meeting members stood in silence in sympathy with the mothers who have lost their sons owing to the war.
